What is the IBPS PO Selection Process?
The IBPS PO selection process is the process of testing candidates in preliminary & main exam, selecting the right candidates as per marks to interview, finally choosing candidates based on their skills.

As per the latest IBPS PO/MT VII notification 2018, the selection procedure will be divided into 3 parts and each part clearly explained below.

IBPS PO Syllabus for Prelims Exam 2017 in Details

Aspirants should qualify in each of the three sections by securing cut-off marks in each test to be decided by IBPS. Only those who qualify through preliminary exam will be eligible to write the IBPS PO Main examination.
Selecting the number of candidates in each category depending upon requirements and number of posts in all banks . However, the IBPS PO Prelims exam is only qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total.
Note : There will be negative marking as penalty for wrong answers equal to 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question. Aspirants should maintain good accuracy to achieve cut off marks. However, there will be no penalty, if a question is left by the candidate.

Marks secured by a candidate in the IBPS PO main exam only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and also for final merit listing. Only those who qualify through main exam will be eligible to attend for the IBPS PO interview.
There will be penalty of 0.25 marks for wrong answers marked by the candidates in the main examination. It will be deducted from the candidates final score. Negative marks will applicable in the both preliminary and main examinations.
IBPS PO Interview
IBPS will select the right candidates to interview depending upon the number of vacancies available and the performance of the aspirants in main examination.
The IBPS PO Interview will conduct for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% of total marks. Meanwhile, 5% marks relaxation provided to SC/ST/OBC/PWD . For each post 4 candidates will be called for interview.
However, prior to the completion of the IBPS PO interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.
Based on the number of probationary officer careers available in all banks, cut off marks will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.
